(Nov. 2004) Cory thought it might be neat if I gave you a little bit of history on our adoption block and what it has come to mean to us.
First of all, we started making our adoption blocks about 4 years ago when we received special requests from customers who wanted to order adoption gifts for friends and family who were adopting internationally. A lot of the information about the birth is unknown with international adoptions, but with a lot of help from the families who were adopting we came up with our Adoption Block. It was really cool to see all the adoption blocks being ordered as gifts. At some of the craft shows we even got to talk to some of the adopting families and learn about their experiences.
What the Adoption Block "means" to us is that in May 2005(if all goes well and the referral comes in March) we'll get to make the most special adoption gift for our daughter who will be adopted from China.UPDATE: We received our long awaited adoption referral in April so we hope to travel to China in early June. Karry has started her own web page to document our trip to China.
